Mr Morgan-Jones is a Welsh speaker, born in Ystradgynlais in the Swansea Valley. After qualifying at the University of Wales College of Medicine in 1989, and completing training at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Oswestry and the Trauma Unit in Stoke-on-Trent, he undertook fellowships in Knee Surgery in Sydney, Australia and the management of Osteomyelitis and Non-unions in Johannesburg, South Africa.
He commenced work at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff in October 2000 and was the first fellowship trained dedicated knee surgeon appointed in Wales. Mr Morgan-Jones has established a tertiary referral service for the management of complex knee problems, specialising in revision knee replacement and the treatment of orthopaedic infection. He was also the first surgeon in Wales to offer Minimally Invasive Knee Surgery, Gender Specific Knee Replacements and Resurfacing Knee Replacements. Mr Morgan-Jones established Cardiff Knee Clinic in 2005 to provide a dedicated centre for the management of knee problems, covering all ages and conditions.
A proud Welshman, Mr Morgan-Jones works as the Honorary Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Welsh Women’s Rugby Team, Caerphilly RFC, Llanelli FC and the Welsh Amateur Athletic Federation. He is married with 3 children, enjoys the Theatre and is a collector of Welsh Art.
