Marci Maheson graduated from Sheffield University Medical School in 1983. After junior hospital posts at the university hospitals in Sheffield and Nottingham he completed higher surgical training in Orthopaedics and Trauma at the university hospitals in Cardiff.

Marci gained further specialist training in Dallas Texas USA, Toronto Canada, Endoclinic Hamburg and Nuremberg Germany before being appointed Senior Lecturer then NHS Consultant to the Cardiff Teaching Hospitals.

Marci has worked as a consultant orthopaedic surgeon in Cardiff since 1993 specialising in Hip and Knee Replacement/Revision surgery. He provides a comprehensive service from basic through to tertiary level surgery receiving referrals from Wales and England. His clinical work covers primary and revision joint replacement surgery, resurfacing hip replacement, micro hip replacement, computer guided surgery, minimally invasive surgery and hip arthroscopy. He is actively involved in research projects in these fields. He is also actively involved in surgeon education/training being regularly invited to speak and perform demonstration operations nationally and globally.

Marci is a member of The British Orthopaedic Association, The British Hip Society and The European Hip Society. He is a past President of The British Society for Computer Assisted Orthopaedic Surgery.
